Landscaping and Property Maintenance Tips for Fall
Soon, the leaves will be turning and it will truly feel like Fall. As we adjust to the chilly air and autumn weather, it’s time to also alter our landscaping maintenance routines. These tips will help your yard look beautiful all season long.
Fall Landscaping Tips:
- Clean Your Gutters – Fall leaves may look beautiful, but they can clog your gutters and keep Fall rains from flowing away from your home. Cleaning this Fall debris will help preventing flooding problems.
- Put Away Your Flower Pots – Brush your flower pots clean and stack them neatly in your garage or shed. Stacking them upside down will prevent them from filling with water, freezing and breaking as we enter cooler months.
- Winterize Your Garden Hoses – You’ll want to winterize your garden during the Fall months, before the temperature hits below freezing. Store your garden hose somewhere safe and turn off the water to and drain your hose bib so that water doesn’t freeze and burst the pipe.
- Protect Your Patio Furniture – After you are done using your outdoor patio furniture for the Fall, cover it to keep water out and let air circulate.
