Creating Your Fall Landscaping Checklist
Looking forward to the Fall weather? While we love crisp air and sweater weather, we also understand that many people don’t love the yard cleanup that comes along with our favorite autumn activities. This checklist will help make property maintenance and landscaping simple.
- Don’t Forget to Fertilize – Your grass keeps growing until the daily temperature gets down to about 40 degrees. Keep fertilizing your grass through the fall to encourage root growth and help you grass stay green next spring!
- Keep Your Grass Short – As the leaves begin to fall, it’s important to keep your grass cut. This helps prevent disease and keeps your grass healthy. Just don’t go too low – your grass makes most of it’s food in the top of the blades.
- Rake Up Leaves – Do you have a lot of trees surrounding your home? Collect your leaves and then rake them into a plastic tarp. This will help make the process easier for you.
- Plant Fall Shrubs – The fall is a cool season, which is perfect for giving plants a place to establish roots.
