Cleaning Tips for Your Outdoor Fireplace
Summer nights are perfect for spending time outdoors around a cozy fire. Whether you are roasting marshmallows or enjoying good conversation with family and friends, outdoor fireplaces are the perfect addition to your outdoor landscape. These tips will help you keep your fireplace in great condition all summer long.
- Wash Fire Grates – Although metal fire grates are very sturdy – they do require occasional maintenance. Clean the fire grate with a hose and scrape away any soot with a wire brush to keep it looking new.
- Use an Ash Vacuum – Ash vacuums are a great way to remove all of the ashes from your outdoor fireplace – just make sure that the ashes are cool first! Use the vacuum a few days after you have used the fireplace.
- Clean the Fireplace Screen – Fireplace screens are an important part of your fireplace safety. Keep them clean by using a bottle of canned air to blow away soot and dust.
